Got my enlistment date and its on the 31st January. I guess it's kind of good not to go in too early like right after A levels (that would be really sad though) or not too late like May. Plus, it would be damn 'sian' if all your friends enlist earlier than you and you would be left.....with kind of nothing to do.
Great to hear that Wei Yang and Le Fa have the same enlistment date as me heh. Increased probability of being in the same company/platoon or whatever it is called! But we have to report at different times argh. Don't know what is the siginifance of the different times though. Really do hope that there's at least one Kairos member with the same time as me, that would make NS life much more bearable I guess.

Got the camp invitation card on Saturday and it really looks great! Looks super nice for a camp for 100 plus people. Really great effort put there. I remember X Factor and Inside Out was just one slip of paper hm. Unfortunately I lost the card (argh). Really want to go for the camp but alas I can't sigh. Lost my 'Destiny' badge too. Omo why am I losing DI stuff?!

Who knew a trampoline could be so fun?
Anyway went to study at JE library and we were already at the doors of the library at 9:30am. Not even opened and yet there's a queue outside the library. Now that's crazy mugging for you. Many highlights happened at JE heh.
One of them was Justin ignoring the librarian when she told him to wake up cause he thought it was us trying to disturb his sleep.
This one was more epic. It all started out with Matthew W. coming to the library to study alone....moments later more Impactors joined in until there was around 10? (Me and Justin included though they were studying at another table). I wonder if this happens all the time hm..
Justin, Zhi , Kenneth and me later went to the Science Centre's Kinetic Park. I wanted to see Jupiter but we found out that the telescope is only opened on Fridays argh. Can't remember the last time I went to Kinetic Park....I think the time was still in the primary school era. Lots of new things at the Kinetic Park that is so fun ESPECIALLY the swing that uses resonance (when driving frequency = natural frequency) or that dish thing that amplifies sound and the trampoline heh. Don't recall seeing them since primary school at all. Is it cool that we knew how most of the things in Kinetic Park works? Got to thank education for that!

The End

Had my last day in PJC and I have to say, it really isn't like the last day in Kranji... There's just something lacking... Thus concludes my less than two years in PJ, moments of pure awesomeness (mostly in year one which is what I call the honeymoon period) and with all the rubbish and nonsense that came in year two.
Ms Koh, who is seriously so far the best and devoted teacher I have ever had did something really touching. She edited the lyrics to Guan Huai Fang Shi, (whoa I seriously love that song, haven't heard it for a long time...and it uses the progression of Canon!) that sums up things about Chem. Really great and touching I almost couldn't hold back the 'sweat' in my eyes, I know I'm not the only one heh.

Bought Passion : Awakening from theGLOW! Been wanting to buy this for a long time and now I finally have it heh. The price is much lower than what PreciousThots sells! The album is amazing and it is worth to listen.

Once again a great message today and one particular segment caught my attention which is the 'rubbish' that this generation currently indulges in such as the nonsense songs that are topping the charts and people really don't realise what they are listening to. I can totally relate to that.

New version of Nothing Is Impossible! Sure brings back many memories of X-Factor camp heh. If I recall correctly, this is the fourth worship song I've ever listened to and the first that got stuck in my head cause it was played many many times. The new album is quite expensive though...$22 dollars rather than the usual $18 hm..
YESS I found a great Fix You cover! Gotta love the arrangement and dynamics on this one

Great and awesome prayer seminar today. Really learnt alot and see in another aspect! Time to put this knowledge to good use heh.

Been doing the one word study method on worship lyrics too heh. This particular verse came into mind 'All of my gains now fade away, every crown no longer on display' and this kind of reminds us to constantly adopt the right attitude to worship. Not for the benefit of Man but to Him and putting away our pride. Hey I think I read this before in Unquenchable Worshippers heh. Intend to write some reflection on it sometime after A Levels

Photobomb?
Tuesday, 4 October 2011
Saw this piece of news today reading the Straits Times. It's about the recent hurricane that hit Philippines and apparently the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) posted a poorly photoshopped photo with the caption that their three officials are 'inspecting' the damage done. Hm a piece of news about integrity issues and corrupted organisations....but what's funny is the response to the photoshopped picture. It spawned a meme where netizens photoshop the three officials in basically everywhere. Damn funny and I laughed alot in the library. This is photobombing to the max until cannot max anymore!
The image posted on the news...
And the photoshopped image which I think it's the best!!
It shows them photoshopping their own images to another photoshopped image. Imageception!

Found out that my grades changed prolly due to moderation, so instead of BCC/S it's BCC/E. One less grade to jump! Some random thought, if ligaments are made of collagen, does consuming more collagen strengthen/heal ligaments? Hm....

prelims!
Saturday, 1 October 2011
Omo haven't blogged for quite awhile. The fact that blogging is getting increasingly harder due to my spoilt keyboard is not helping. Anyway...
Praise the Lord! My prelim results are not bad and quite surprising. BCC/S With an S for GP. My H1 subjects fell while my H2 subjects improved. Overall, an improvement from Mid Years! At this rate, the goal of AAA/C isn't looking that far now heh.

Kind of sick of hearing people saying that their answers are so long yet they get so little marks as compared to someone writing short answers or putting alot of studying effort yet the guy who isn't so hardcore in studying gets better grades. It's the quality and not the quantity! Efficiency is important and it's the effective output that matters. An analogy would be that of lousy fue like if one had to burn insane amounts of fuel to travel 1km.
So apparently Coldplay shared a link on their social feed of a cover of Fix You by Glee. I found it a horrible cover =\ I admit that the vocals were good but the song dynamics are ruined. There's just something different about how Chris Martin sings it. There's feelings poured out when Chris sings it and the cover doesnt seem to pick up that. But meh a cover is a musician's view of a song so it's up to him/her on the arrangement. Still, it's a minus rep for me on this cover.
