Finished The Hunger Games after one week and I have to say that it is a great book! Any free time I had in the army, (mostly during the many times where we wait for nothing) I spent reading the book. Quite a few people were reading the book too heh although they had the different cover of the book. I like the way the author builds up on the characters and the elaboration that is put in. Perhaps one of the reasons why it is interesting is that the fact that you know that everyone is going to die at the end of the book which is quite sad. When Rue dies, it was quite a sad moment considering the relationship she had with the main character. Going to start on the second book soon and I hope it is longer than the first heh.
I come to realise that there's one thing I hate about NS, that is the ranking system. Often we are asked to rank people from the best to the worst. Ranking the best people is easy and I support this as it edifies them but it gets harder and harder when you end up deciding who is the last. It is a painful process and I don't really like having to be asked to do so.
One more week to POP! Next week around this time I will be marching around ECP, eagerly anticipating when we get to see the floating platform which signifies that we finally made it.

Hunger Games

Been reading this book and after reading 2 chapters, I've been drawn to it. Heard alot of good reviews about this book and they are right! In NS, it sometimes does seem you are cut off from the world and not know anything current. I thought the Hunger Games was something of a new reality show (which it actually is alhough in the book) when I first heard it on the last book out. This should keep me occupied for the remainder of NS heh. Nothing much to do nowadays since the important events are all complete except BIC.

Well field camp is over and thinking back of the experience that I had, I realise that it's quite an enjoyable one. After all the tough training and the adhering to the strict disciplines, I'm glad that it's finally over. The so called toughest part of BMT has been conquered so anything that we face now is really nothing compared to it heh. Well, there' still the 24km march but I think by then the morale will be so high and everyone wouldn't care about the long distance or the fact that we are doing it in the night. The thought of finally reaching the floating platform at Marina is so wonderful heh.
Finally applied my university choices for NTU and NUS. Kinda lazy to apply for SUTD cause you have to fill in alot of stuff unlike NTU and NUS where your particulars are more or less already been settled. Argh I also realise the application for Teacher's Award is already closed. Army is taking up too much time argh.

Got back my results on Friday and wasn't really what I expected. I realise that my grades are somewhat similar to what I got for Prelims just that my Chemistry is a B rather than a C.
BBC/E and a D for GP. The subject that pulls me down is Economics. Not sure what went wrong with it though but come to think of it I really didn't put much work into it
haha. Right now thinking if I should retake just my H1s but this would be a problem if I do not have much free time in the army. On the other hand, I can try to apply in both NUS and
NTU see if I can get the courses I want.
While in the army I reconsidered what I wanted to do in the future. I like to be a pilot (not the commercial one though) and wouldn't mind getting the
SAF scholarship and the six year bond but after going through half of
BMT, I realise I don't really like the military life. Sure flying is my passion but the prospect of living an army life makes me think twice. Thought about it more and I came to realise being a teacher is not so bad. Going back to school but from a different view point! So I guess I will be joining my many other friends who also want to be teachers in
NIE soon
heh.
Going for field camp soon. Heard that you will have lack of sleep and the chances of getting heat rashes is very high. Amidst all the trials I know that God will pull me through!
