So lately I have quite the abundance of time. Apparently my company is involved in the SAF parade and will represent the armour contingent. 8 will not be selected to take part in the parade and will be involved in prepping the tanks for the Australia trip. Thankfully I'm part of the 8 and so I have even more free time on days where there are parade rehearsals. Stayed in bunk playing guitar most of the time, reading books and of course more rest! (Seems like I'm buying books every week).
One good thing about bringing guitar to camp is that I'm now practicing guitar around one or two hours on average. The most was three hours and by that time my fingers were already dying. Guitar skills improving alot thanks to that and I think this is one of the good things about NS I guess. Though I found out yesterday during guitar mentoring with Justin that I have lots to touch up on and I'm playing/practising the wrong things woops.
Another bunkmate of mine brought his guitar to camp and it is amazing to note that the songs he play in bunk includes some songs in my jamming playlist heh. There was this one night last two Thursdays ago on the fourteeth something amazing happened. So my bunkmate who brought guitar asked me to play Hillsong United songs with him. We would each take turns to play any song from Hillsong until one of us ran out of time and this went on for a good one hour but eventually it became very close to lights out so we had to stop. Never thought I would actually be jamming worship songs with a bunkmate heh. Thankful that 4 out of 5 bunkmates are Christian and one of them is actually a worship leader too! (who actually approached me to teach him how to play 'How He Loves Us' which is kind of weird cause he's kind of more pro than me I think).
This week starts of a series of outfield trainings. Hope it doesnt last until the night though.
Note to self: Repair bicycle tranmission and do not switch 5 gears in one go
