Woops kinda abandoned this space for a long time. Anyway I'm about to fly off to Australia on 14th September for an exercise for my company. Not much interesting stuff to do however. Since my platoon is HQ which means we are not the main force and do much of the admin work. Today (and yesterday) is my last weekend before flying off because apparently my company is involved (yet again) in some event which is the army half marathon. Thankfully, we don't have to participate this year but rather we are organising it. Coming back on the 6th of October and I hope that the one week break they give us before flying back to Australia includes the weekend as well.

Played for the first time since I joined Encounter but it wasn't a debut. I'm not quite ready yet haha. Played just one song for pre-encounter (HOP) and it was quite a terrifying yet amazing experience. I realise when I go up to play I start to become aware of alot of things. Am I still keeping time? Is the strumming pattern/intensity ok? When do I die down or build up? What's the next chord? What's the overall mood like? But I guess I did well haha although there were not many people at HOP. Eugene did mention he didn't realise there were two guitars so I guess that's a plus point.

Thought about writing a song but eh I just can't seem to organise the words together. There are so many words and ideas to choose from! This affects my prayers and essays as well. I know more or less what I'm going to write about, something I experience in the army. Hm I guess what I need is to spend alot of time with my paper and pen.

One thing I'm looking forward to the Australia exercise though. It's not the driving at 72 kilometres per hour on desert roads (very fast and scary for a tank) but rather the darkness. Heard it's going to be total darkness unlike Singapore. No matter how dark is it, you can still see stuff at night and the horizon has that glow. The starscape at an Australian desert is going to be awesome heh (I hope).

You turned me upside down
Give me hope for doubt
Now falling more in love
Is all my life is about
It's for more of You we cry
First song I bought from the Singapore iTunes store heh. Love this song and the lyrics are really striking. Sometimes it challenges you when you sing it. Do you mean what you sing? Would you do it in this world full of it's distractions and colourful attractions?
