DI Star Night

DI's 5th Birthday! It has been three years since I came to be in DI! (Since X-factor). Time sure flies!
Really thankful for this spiritual family that God has come to bless me with.
It's interesting to look back and see how much we have grown spiritually (physically as well it seems).
Star Night started off at 5:30pm, not our usual time of 3:30pm and also not the usual Honor room that we are used to as well! What's different as well is that the event setting is somewhat like a wedding dinner. With nicely decorated tables and chairs and a very nice lantern on each table!
Had some games first (musical charades) though I missed prolly 10 minutes of it since I arrived late argh. Moving on we then played another game which was guessing the Impactor when he/she is five. Some impactors retain their look since they were five while some look quite different. Ambrose and Justin's pictures were epic cause they were not obviously five in the photos haha. A flash mob occurred later but we were fooled into thinking we were playing another game (finding 5 5c coins which were supposed to be scattered around the room). Though thinking back, I realise that game would be quite impossible to play eh.
Dinner was served next...by the SERVErs. (Ha I saw what they did there) Liked the placemats? (Not sure what they are called) for the utensils, plates and drinks haha. They actually are correct in measurements 'cept the cups. Dinner was accompanied with a live band playing! A jazz band as they want themselves to be called haha. They did play a jazz sounding song though.
I Won't Give Up - Jason Mraz
You Are Young - Keane
More - Matthew West
Your Love Is Strong - Jon Foreman
Isn't She Lovely? - Stevie Wonder
The song set! I think I may have missed a song...
In between each song, an Impactor from one of the zones would come up and share their testimony and I felt that some of the testimonials shared were heartfelt. Heh I see the benefits and importance of sharing a testimony. It encourages us in our own spiritual walks and even be grateful and blessed that our brothers and sisters' lives have been touched by God!
Next was the video made by DI! Where some of us filmed ourselves answering some questions relating to DI and where some zones made videos for DI's birthday. Kairos made some army skit about us not submitting out videos and getting scolded by our sergeant Matthew. But the one that took the cake was Rhema's video. Theirs was extremely funny especially the Harlem Shake parody and the humorous edits heh.
Kairos!
To wrap it up, instead of having a cake we have macaroons arranged in a globe! I can't exactly remember (sigh) the significance of it but my interpretation was that each of us represents the macaroon and we are the stars/light givers of the world and hence the globe of macaroons. Pastor Tim made a speech addressing the whole of DI and in that moment, while the lights were warming up and everyone was cast in a white glow, I can just imagine us spending time forever in heaven as a spiritual family.
So, as DI continues to grow let us continue to be strong and faithful and shine like stars!
